Abdominoplasty: Before and After Photos
Birmingham, Alabama
Also called a Tummy Tuck, this procedure removes unwanted fat and skin from the abdomen. The surgeon makes an incision from hipbone to hipbone, which is low enough to hide the scar under a bikini. Liposuction is often done along with an abdominoplasty, to remove excess fat. The abdominal muscles are tightened, and the skin is redraped and sutured to create a flatter contour.
You can choose to have a Partial Abdominoplasty, which works only below the navel. A full procedure works on the entire abdomen, moving the navel to a new location, because in the new contour it would be too low if left as is. If you have been devoted about good diet and exercise, and still have too much of a belly, a tummy tuck would be a good option. This is fairly major surgery and you would want to follow Dr. Core’s instructions for both pre-surgery and post-surgery self care. He may ask you to refrain from taking certain medications or supplements for a period before surgery.
