Before and After: Breast Reduction
Birmingham, Alabama
Although our society puts a lot of value on large breasts, a woman whose breasts are extremely large can be quite uncomfortable. If you have been living with bra straps that cut into your shoulders and an aching back, you may be wondering whether a breast reduction would be a good option. A consultation with Dr. Core will answer your questions and help you decide.
Breast reduction is fairly major surgery, like breast augmentation. It is usually done under general anesthesia. Incisions are made around the areola and vertically down to the crease. Depending on how much tissue is to be removed, they may be in other locations as well. Excess skin is removed, the areola is repositioned in a higher place on the newly-reshaped breast, and incisions closed. Now your profile will look more perky and youthful and you’ll have less weight to carry around. Incisions are hidden beneath swimsuits and bras. Recovery takes a few weeks. Be sure and follow Dr. Core’s self-care instructions very closely.
