Can improve virtually any aspect of your nose. Nasal surgery is the most common and yet the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed.
In most cases a surgeon performing cosmetic changes to the nose will take advantage of the opportunity to open up your airways if necessary and improve the way you breathe. When you breathe better, you'll sleep better, and if you're athletic, you'll probably notice an improvement in your performance as well.
A nose operation is relatively painless and generally takes one to two hours to perform. There are no visible scars, because all the work is done from inside the nose. After surgery, a splint will be put on your nose to protect the new shape and a nasal pad is often inserted into each nostril for support.
You'll be up and around a day or two after surgery and any pain you feel can be controlled by medication. Cold compresses on your eyes will reduce swelling and bruising. The nasal packing comes out in a couple of days, and the splint comes off in less than a week.
After nasal surgery, you will have bruising around your eyes, but it starts to fade in a couple of days, and disappears totally within a few weeks. Most people return to work within a week or so, with makeup covering any bruises that remain.
There will be subtle swelling of the nose, which slowly subsides over time. Thus you may not see the final results for a few weeks, or even months.
The results will be immediate and dramatic if your nose was very large or if a big hump was removed. However the changes are usually less dramatic and improve your appearance without drawing attention to your nose. Unlike some procedures, which offer only temporary improvements, good nasal surgery lasts forever. You will look better, and feel better, for the rest of your life.
