Dr. Hammond completed his medical training at Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 2017 before continuing his surgical training at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where he completed his general surgery residency in 2023. During his time at Mayo Clinic he received the prestigious Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award, serving as a Clinical Instructor in Surgery and Assistant Professor in Health Services Research. He later completed his advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Colorado in 2026.
Dr. Hammond is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and has contributed to more than 50 publications throughout his academic career. His dedication to advancing the field of surgery reflects his commitment to evidence-based care and achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Hammond enjoys spending time with his wife, Brooke, and their son, Benjamin. He enjoys cooking, grilling, and embracing family life in Chelsea, Alabama, where he appreciates the quiet and close-knit community. He is also a proud Eagle Scout and enjoys reading works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
