While it is attractive to have contoured facial structure, sagging facial skin does not enhance the look. At Core Plastic Surgery, Grady Core, M.D., F.A.C.S., a board-certified plastic surgeon, uses VOLUMA® to restore the fullness to the face of people living in and around Birmingham and Mountain Brook, creating a younger look.
What is VOLUMA?
VOLUMA restores volume to the cheeks using its main ingredient, hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring substance found in skin to increase the amount of moisture. VOLUMA is the first FDA-approved filler formulated with lidocaine to specifically target the cheeks.
Benefits of VOLUMA
As the first filler FDA approved to restore volume to the cheeks, VOLUMA offers the following benefits:
- Achieve results with only one treatment
- Add contour to the cheek area
- No discomfort
- Immediate results
- Long lasting – up to two years
Who is a Good Candidate for VOLUMA?
VOLUMA is ideal for those who have begun to lose volume in their skin as they age. It is common for cheeks to look hollow and for skin to begin to sag as people get older.
How Do I Prepare for My VOLUMA Treatments?
There is no preparation with VOLUMA treatments.
Before getting VOLUMA treatments, we recommend you schedule a consultation with Dr. Core so he can evaluate your skin and recommend whether VOLUMA or another filler is the best option for you.
What is Involved in My VOLUMA Treatments?
VOLUMA is injected into the cheeks or wrinkles and fine lines to add volume and smooth the skin. Since VOLUMA contains lidocaine, there is no pain or discomfort at the injection site. Dr. Core is very skilled at knowing how to inject the gel filler so that the results are natural looking. He completes the treatment in about 30 minutes.
What to Expect After VOLUMA Treatments
There is no recovery or downtime with VOLUMA so you can go back to work or your normal routine immediately following the treatment. If you have any swelling or redness, it is gone within a day or so.
When Will I See the Results from VOLUMA?
The results are noticeable following your appointment but increase over time as the HA does its work to increase moisture in the skin. When using VOLUMA, you can expect the results to last about two years. Continued maintenance treatments can extend the results far longer.
How Much Does VOLUMA Cost in Birmingham?
VOLUMA treatments vary in terms of cost based on whether other treatments are done at the same time, how many injections are needed and the extent of the area treated. We can discuss the costs with you as well as our payment and financing options. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards; we offer financing through CareCredit®.
