Family members, employees, or even paid services can post glowing comments, while dissatisfied users are more likely to leave negative ones that may not tell the full clinical story. I once met a patient who blamed her surgeon for a complication caused by her own chain smoking. If she had shared that review online, readers would have missed the real cause.

So how do you choose wisely? Start with verified credentials, including board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, fellowship training, and years in practice. Ask your primary care doctor for recommendations, speak with trusted friends, and most importantly, meet the surgeon in person to gauge communication style and comfort level.
