What is a Thigh Lift?
A thigh lift is a surgical procedure performed to remove loose skin around the upper thighs. This usually occurs with age or following a major weight loss as the skin loses its elasticity and causes the legs to look flabbier than they are. Dr. Core has restored comfort and confidence to countless men and women with thigh lift surgery.
Benefits of a Thigh Lift
Thigh lifts reveal thinner legs and provide benefits such as:
- A thigh gap
- Smooth legs
- Less inner thigh chafing
- More options to participate in physical activities
How to Get a Thigh Gap?
The goal of strengthening and toning the thighs is to create the illustrious “thigh gap.” When a healthy diet and exercise do not achieve this look, a thigh lift often achieves the desired look.
Who is a Good Candidate for a Thigh Lift?
Whether because of a significant weight loss or sagging with age, loose skin around the thighs inhibits the ability to reveal the hard work to have lean thighs.
A thigh lift does not create contoured thighs, rather it removes the excess skin to create smoother legs.
How Do I Prepare for My Thigh Lift?
Prior to having a thigh lift, it is necessary to schedule a consultation with Dr. Core to discuss what you want from a thigh lift. During this appointment, he can evaluate your legs to make sure a thigh lift is the best option for your desired look. Once you make the decision for the procedure, he goes over the details and provides you with a list of pre-op instructions.
What is Involved with My Thigh Lift?
A thigh lift is performed by making an incision at the top of the inner thigh along the top of the pubic area.
The thigh lift procedure is completed on an outpatient basis.
The skin is pulled and tightened then stitched close. The excess skin is cut away, and the incisions are dressed and bandaged. Compression sleeves may be applied to minimize swelling and support the areas. Drainage tubes are placed in the incisions to prevent fluid build-up.
What to Expect After a Thigh Lift
Following your thigh lift, there is some swelling and bruising especially around the incision sites. You may be asked to stay home from work for a week to allow your thighs to heal. You may also be asked to avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for at least a month.
When Will I See the Results from My Thigh Lift?
The results from a thigh lift take some time to become visible. As the swelling and bruising subside, and the scars fade, the results of a thigh lift allow you to wear more clothing styles.
It typically takes a few months for the results of thigh surgery to come to fruition.
