The first step in preparing for a neck lift is to ensure you are healthy enough for surgery. Additionally, it is necessary for you to have a consultation with Dr. Core to determine whether a neck lift or other treatment is the best option.
We also provide you with a list of pre-op instructions so that you are ready for your surgery and the first few days of recovery.
Your neck lift procedure involves making incisions under the chin and possibly behind the ears. Fat deposits are reduced, followed by tightening of the muscles and the skin. The incisions are sutured, and excess skin is removed. The area is bandaged and wrapped to protect and support the skin. The procedure takes about three hours and is usually done under anesthesia.
The procedure begins with an incision in front of the earlobe. Dr. Core drags his scalpel all the way behind the ear and on to the lower scalp. Of particular consideration is the amount of skin that require excision and whether there will be any alteration of the neck muscles. Sometimes, liposuction will also be involved.
The nuances of your neck are in the most capable hands with Dr. Grady Core. His surgical skills are only surpassed by his compassion because he understands that the best patient is a satisfied patient.
Is Neck Lift Surgery Painful?
You will not experience any discomfort beyond what you might typically expect from minor surgery. Neck lift is a safe procedure, especially if you follow your surgeon’s post-op aftercare instructions with fidelity. Discomfort should be minimal and your recovery should go quickly. A neck lift is an excisional surgical procedure. Unwanted skin, fat and muscle are removed to tighten your profile and lift your jawline. You will most likely undergo anesthesia while the doctor works. You will not feel anything thanks to the effects of the anesthetics.
Though the operation is brief and relatively simple, incisions need time to heal. As your skin is adjusting to your angular new contours you will feel tightness in the neck region, especially as the surgical anesthesia wears off. Prescription medication will manage any pain during the first two recuperative days. After a week or less, over-the-counter ibuprofen is all you will need.
You can expect to see the results from your neck lift within a few weeks as the bruising and swelling subside. Since the incisions are made in inconspicuous areas, any scars are barely noticeable and will fade over time.
Are Neck Lifts Permanent?
A neck lift will dramatically turn back the clock on your aging process. You won’t believe the younger you staring back from the mirror!. The procedure can not, however, stop time. The aging process will continue. You’ll look years younger after the surgery, and will continue to look years younger even as you get older. Nevertheless, you’ll continue to look more youthful than you would have had you not undergone the surgery.
Complementary Facial Rejuvenation Procedures
Your comprehensive facial rejuvenation plan will lift your whole aspect upward so that your face may beam with youth once more. Dr. Core will frequently perform the Facelift and neck lift procedures together. Both surgeries achieve complementary results by removing and tightening excess skin a firm and youthful appearance throughout the face.
Some patients seek a Brow Lift to brighten the expressiveness of their eyes. Dr. Core will lift loose forehead skin and remove the extra. After a short recovery, you will present a bright demeanor that accurately reflects their inner world. Brow lift patients often also contemplate Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) so that their eyes aren’t enshrouded in sleepy-looking lax skin. Brow lift and blepharoplasty are both popular with those who seek to avoid seeming old, grumpy and out-of-touch. Taken together, your facial rejuvenation procedures will make you look younger for years to come.

A neck lift surgery will remove loose skin and tighten what remains so that your profile can once again sport a smooth and youthful contour. Lift your visage to the light of the new day with Core Plastic Surgery!
You will enjoy the results of your neck lift for 10 to 15 years. Treatment results may vary based on an individual’s skin condition. Much will also depend on how well you take care of your skin after surgery. Please be aware, the face continues to age, even after surgery. Your results will depend on your natural aging process.
It is hard to ignore the wrinkled, sagging skin on the neck that is a common side effect of aging. It occurs when your neck muscles begin weakening and your skin loses its ability to stretch and stay tight.
